Phoenix Food Shack will be joining us with their awesome selection of food and infused fruit drinks\, and The Tacos and Thai Truck will be serving up their tasty menu items as well! Lake Hill Winery will be here with all your favorite local wines to taste\, sip\, and enjoy. Hickry Ridge Homestead is coming and will be doing spinning demonstrations\, so you can see how our alpaca fiber is spun into yarn! A Tangled Mess Angoras & Crafts will be here with her adorable angora goats and angora rabbits\, plus all her fibery goodness – dyed fiber\, batts\, hand-spun yarns\, felted sheets/canvases\, woven items\, etc. Quesal Puppet Troupe will be performing a special Beatles Tribute around 2:00pm. Stay tuned for a full list of vendors! Cups of grain to hand feed the alpacas with will be available for $5/cup. We’ll also have tables set up with our alpaca products for sale. Fishing is allowed\, our pond is stocked with mostly bass\, but there are a few catfish in there somewhere. Bring your own fishing pole\, we don’t have any available. The beach has toys for kids to play with\, this is a family friendly environment. No pets\, no smoking\, and no chasing the alpacas. Please be kind and respectful to others. An outhouse is available on the other side of the farm\, unfortunately it is not wheelchair accessible. Hand wipes and disinfectant wipes are available\, there is no hand sink. **Please note\, this is not a petting zoo. Alpacas are similar to a timid cat\, they like to get to know you on their own terms. If you insist on trying to pet them before you’ve earned their trust\, they will walk or run away from you – the more you insist\, the more they will retreat. Be patient\, and let them come up to you on their own for the best experience. Hand feeding grain always helps with the introduction\, and will entice them to come up to you. Free admission for all of our 2023 Alpaca Beach Parties! Donations are always appreciated\, but never expected. “Granma said\, when you come on something good\, first thing to do is share it with whoever you can find; that way the good spreads out where no telling it will go. Which is right.” – Forrest Carter from the Education of Little Tree Sunny Beach is dedicated to my best friend\, Sunny\, who spent her life celebrating kindness and advocating for children\, social justice\, and world peace. Her last letter to me arrived the day she passed away\, and inside it was the quote above from Forrest Carter. The Alpaca Beach Parties came about all because of my beautiful friend\, it’s my way of honoring her and my attempt to bring as much joy to the world as she did. Little Creek Alpacas is within 20-35 minutes of 3 different campgrounds! A great way to take an affordable mini vacation that the kids will love! Spring Lake in Macomb\, IL also has cabins for rent if you’re not a tent camper and don’t have an RV. Spring Lake is approx. 35 minutes from our farm. Argyle Lake State Park is approx. 20-30 minutes from our farm.

DESCRIPTION:It’s been a few years\, but Music Trivia is back! Dan’s DJ & Karaoke will be dropping beats for BBBS and the Macomb VFW Post 1921 on Saturday\, March 11th! Tickets are $20/ per person or $150 for a team of 8. With purchase of a ticket\, you can redeem one drink from bar\, enjoy snacks and beverages throughout the night. Cash bar and signature drinks will be available for purchase during the event. Space is limited so don’t wait on it. Awesome prizes for the winning team\, including over $300 worth of gift certificates and items from local restaurants and businesses. DESCRIPTION:Join us Sat.\, March 11th from 12pm-5pm at the McDonough County 4-H Center for the 1st ever Western IL Fiber Fest! Fiber demonstrations\, sales\, and activities will be going on throughout the day. Meet fiber farmers and fiber artists\, learn about the different animals that produce fiber\, and all the different things you can create with it. Raw fiber\, carded fiber\, batt blends\, roving\, hand-spun yarns\, hand-dyed yarns\, felting supplies\, felted items & art\, crocheted items\, knit items\, woven items\, and much more!\nFree admission. Phoenix Food Shack will be serving lunch so come hungry! Stay tuned for list of vendors. We’re hoping Lake Hill Winery can join us for wine tasting too.\nFiber Demonstrations (so far\, might be more):\nSpinning with an E-Spinner (electric spinning wheel)\nSpinning with a traditional spinning wheel\nSpinning with a drop spindle\nNeedle Felting\nFiber Activities (so far\, might be more):\nBird Nesting Balls – all ages – $8 – fill an iron orb with alpaca fiber and tie a piece of bale twine to the top. When you get home\, hang it from your favorite tree and watch the birds stop by to pick up nesting material for their nests!\nMake a Felted Picture – ages 10 & up – $10 – use natural fibers to create your own felted masterpiece! You’ll learn the basics of needle felting and use a barbed felting needle to “poke” fiber into a 6×6 piece of alpaca felt to design your own picture.
