SUMMARY:Macomb Municipal Band
DESCRIPTION:The Macomb Municipal Band returns this spring to the City Hall lawn located at 232 East Jackson Street. Under the direction of Dr. Mike Fansler and Dr. Bruce Briney\, the band will place special emphasis on the McDonough County Bicentennial celebration and the recognition of 250 years of American independence. \nCity Hall performances on the lawn include the season opener\, directed by Dr. Briney\, on Thursday\, May 28\, 2026\, at 7:00 p.m. On Friday\, July 24\, the band will perform a tribute to the McDonough County Bicentennial at 7:00 p.m. under the direction of Dr. Fansler. The band will return on Saturday\, August 22\, at 7:00 p.m. under the direction of Dr. Fansler. The season will conclude with a final performance directed by Dr. Briney on Thursday\, September 24\, at 6:00 p.m. The community is encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs for seating during the performances. \nThe band will also make community appearances during Heritage Days on Thursday\, June 25\, at 5:45 p.m. to perform “America’s Roots Run Deep\,” directed by Dr. Fansler\, and at the City of Macomb’s Independence Day Celebration on July 4 at 8:00 p.m. on Vince Grady Field\, also under Fansler’s direction.

DESCRIPTION:The Downtown Summer Concert Series is back for another season of afternoon entertainment in Chandler Park beginning Wednesday\, June 3\, 2026. The season will start with a performance by Bill Maakastad starting at 12:00 p.m. in the Chandler Park Gazebo. Guests are encouraged to bring their lunch\, along with a lawn chair or blanket to sit and enjoy the concert. \nPerformances for the 2026 season include: June 3 – Bill Maakastad\, June 10 – Prairieland Barbershop Chorus\, June 17 – The Bayou Prowlers\, July 1 – King Neptune Band\, July 8 – SummerStage\, July 15 -Rooftop Swing Band\, July 22 – Nauvoo Pageant Bagpipe Band\, and July 29 – Troublesome Ridge Bluegrass Band. All performances will begin at 12:00 p.m. and conclude at 1:00 PM. \nIn the event of inclement weather\, the Western Illinois Museum will serve as the alternate concert location\, located at 201 S.
