DESCRIPTION:The WIU College of Fine Arts and Communication and the Department of Theatre and Dance announces the SummerStage performance of SCHOOL OF ROCK. \nThe School of Rock is a two-act musical based on the hit movie. Dewey Finn\, a failed\, wannabe rock star decides to earn some money by posing as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school where he turns a class of straight-A students into a guitar-shredding\, bass-slapping rock band. \nThe show is directed by Carolyn Blackinton\, choreographed by Heidi Clemmens\, and musical direction by Nicholas Miguel. \nShows are on Friday\, July 14 at 7:30 pm and Saturday\, July 15 at 2:00 pm and 7:30 pm. Tickets are available online July 1 at westernpresents.com/sor and on July 5 at the Hainline Box Office on the WIU campus or by calling 309-298-2900. \n$20 for general admission\, $15 for youth and seniors.
