MCT 2012 Season
It's Murder in the Wings
By
Pat Cook
February 24, 25, March 2, and 3, 2012
Directed by Dick Vick
Our season opens with a mystery comedy. Maddie, editor at The Wings Publishing Company, discovers her boss has been murdered just moments before an important contract-signing party. All Maddie and her staff have to do is keep the corpse under wraps until the contract has been signed, which will make possible a loan to save the floundering company. Of course, the cover-up is complicated by the arrival of various persons wanting to see the boss: the author, a reporter, a television crew, a hack writer, a suspicious janitor and the late boss’s fiancée. Fine for all ages. Directed by Dick Vick; Technical Director, Julie Hannen.
Charlotte's Web
Adapted By
Joseph Robinette based on the book by E B White
April 27, 28, May 4, 5, and 6, 2012
Based on the popular children’s book, this beautiful play is the story of the friendship between Wilbur the pig, who desperately wants to avoid the butcher, and Charlotte the spider, who is determined to save him by means of her “miracle” web. All the characters we know and love are here, including Fern, the girl who can understand what the animals say to each other, Templeton, the gluttonous rat and other farm animals, as well as humans. Featuring both adults and children, this is a family-friendly show. Directed by Travis Gage.
Cactus Pass Jamboree
By
Karen Woodford
September 14, 15, 21, 22, and 23, 2012
Directed by Peggy Roth
Musical Director JoEllen Pensinger
Millionaire Trevor Barrington wants his family to experience the “real America,” so they’re heading west in their Rolls Royce motor home. Engine trouble strands them in the quaint western town of Cactus Pass, just in time for the town’s annual jamboree – which has been cancelled every year for the past 80 years, due to a feud between the Putnams and the Ludlows over stolen prize money from a hog-calling contest in 1917. Featuring local area children, this family-friendly show has it all – music, a feud, star-crossed lovers, good guys, bad guys, and some who aren’t what they seem to be! Directed by Peggy Roth; Musical Director, JoEllen Pensinger.
Moon Over Buffalo
By Ken Ludwig
November 9, 10, 16, and 17, 2012
Directed by Lori Botts
This backstage farce gives us a peek at a third-rate touring repertory company performing in Buffalo, NY in the 1950’s. George and Charlotte Hay may have one last shot at starring roles in the new film epic The Scarlet Pimpernel, and director Frank Capra himself is on his way to Buffalo to catch their matinee performance. Will Charlotte appear onstage or run away with their agent? Will George be sober enough to emote? And which of the alternating shows will Capra see? Hilarious misunderstandings, mishaps and mayhem abound “behind the scenes” at the theatre! Under 12, parental discretion advised. Directed by Lori Botts.
