This society was organized
about the year 1850, and for many years worshiped in the groves, and school
houses, in primitive style. In 1865, they erected a neat, substantial church
edifice on the northeast quarter of section 19, Emmet township. The building
is 26x50 feet in ground area, and cost in the neighborhood of $2,500. Among
many of those who have been prominently identified with this church, have
been Eli Murray, B. F. and G. G. Guy, James Griffith and D. T. and J. C.
Guy.
